BRIEFCASE CONTENTS

The briefcase contains:

8 large stencils with 44 different cloud shapes

a double-face poster board with a sky side for working with the different cloud shapes, and a mirror side for observing different cloud reflections and tracing around them with the included erasable marker

an activity book to make the best use of the available materials and to plan a multidisciplinary research project on clouds.

PROPOSED ACTIVITIES

Here are some examples of the activities children can do with The Cloudmaker’s briefcase:

  • draw and colour the clouds using different materials (crayons, sponge or roller painting, watercolours, etc.);
  • photograph the clouds and make digital collages with the use of an application;
  • learn to observe and describe clouds with words, symbols, and colours;
  • classify clouds like real scientists;
  • invent stories starting from clouds, getting inspiration from well-known writers;
  • reason about different cloud shapes and how to measure their perimeter.

The activities and materials proposed within The Cloudmaker’s briefcase are aimed at all primary school teachers who want to transform daily teaching into innovative lessons, proposing creative and stimulating activities that begin with the observation of clouds.
