Sex and gender differences in typical and atypical development

Introducing the study of sex / gender differences in developmental age, this volume offers a review of the most recent studies on sex / gender differences in cognitive and behavioural profiles in some clinical populations. It examines how genetic factors, hormonal specificities and differences in the structural and functional organization of the brain change under the constant pressure of the environment.  It introduces atypical development, considering children with Delay and Primary Language Disorder, and provides evidence on the possible role of sex / gender in this neurodevelopmental disorder.  It also offers an update on sex / gender differences in epidemiology, symptom profile and neuroanatomy of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder; and finally proposes a review of sex / gender differences in neurodevelopment and psychopathology of children with Attention and Hyperactivity Disorder.
