A fun journey through feelings to train emotional intelligence



 

Six Little Pixies at play between emotions is an innovative and engaging game for children aged 6 and over.  Players, in cooperative mode, must help Tommy reawaken his emotions, which have been frozen by the Indifference Witch’s spell. Together with the six little pixies, the children will have to overcome fun tasksand some unpredictable events, designed to develop the basic skills related to emotional intelligence, accept their emotional states naturally and with awareness, express them and relate empathically to the emotional dimensions of others.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

  • Develop basic skills related to emotional intelligence;
  • Embrace one’s emotional states naturally and consciously and know how to describe them;
  • Relate empathetically to the emotional states of others.


How to play

The goal of the game is to carry out the various challenges required by the cards (Emotions on stage, Mysterious events and Little Pixies of the heart) and get all the pixies to the center of the board. The game ends when the pixies reach the finish line before all the witch cards have been turned over. In this case all players win, and the magic spell will be read. Warning: if the witch cards are turned over before all the pixies have reached the last space, then all players have lost.

PIXIES IN THE HEART

The children must tell an event they experienced or imagined, which can be traced back to the emotion depicted or described in the sentence on the card.

EMOTIONS ON STAGE

The children must identify with the situation represented on the card and act it out.

MYSTERIOUS EVENTS

The children must formulate hypotheses about the cause that may have determined the emotional state represented on the card.

THE POT

The children turn a card over to the witch’s side.

THE BROOM

The children roll the dice again and move back.

THE MAGIC WAND

The children roll the dice again and move forward.

THE RAINBOW

The children turn over the top card of each deck and choose the challenge they prefer

IF THE NUMBER 6 COMES UP WHEN YOU ROLL THE DICE

Children can turn the witch card over, and the fairy comes back.

THE AUTHOR

Rosalba Corallo
was born in 1973 in Messina, where she lives and works. She is a pedagogist, teacher, speaker at courses and conferences and writer of educational-narrative texts for children. For Erickson, she is the author of a series of books whose protagonists are cute little pixies.
