50 flashcards to argue and discuss mindfully
Parole O_Stili
We often interpret the world around us based on our social and cultural background, our values, and our personal experiences. For this reason, the same situation can be viewed from different perspectives and there doesn’t necessarily have to be a right or wrong one. Points of view is a game designed to encourage secondary school students to reflect, express their own viewpoints, and observe and appreciate those of others.

The teacher sets up the classroom environment by establishing basic rules to create a space where students feel free to express their opinions openly. Discussions can take place with the whole class or by dividing it into small groups (which usually helps less confident students to share their views).
The teacher selects a scenario and reads it to the entire class. The discussion unfolds in stages as indicated on the back of the card.
After identifying the recommended technique and setting up an appropriate group arrangement, the teacher presents the first question to encourage an initial moment of individual reflection.
The teacher poses prompting questions, following the discussion framework outlined for the suggested technique.
Key issues raised by participants during the discussion are noted on the board, so they can be analysed together and linked back to one of the 10 principles outlined in the Manifesto. The relevant flashcard is then taken to read its content to the class.
