In a rigorous but accessible way, the volume illustrates the reasons why it is important to collect information on the efficiency of Executive Functions (EF) in the developmental age, providing useful indications for the evaluation and interpretation of the results. The volume is based on the FEREA program, a working model for the evaluation and enhancement of EF that involves children and young people from a cognitive and emotional point of view.
Executive Functions (EF) influence different aspects of psychological development, in particular the ability to adapt to the environment. In neurodevelopmental disorders, EF are very often deficient, so the person is not able to exercise adequate cognitive, emotional and behavioural self-regulation. To significantly impact the development of EF in children and adolescents, it is necessary to develop a playful and motivational approach and create a bridge with the external environment that actively involves parents and teachers.
