CD-ROM

The CD-ROM contains themes that are developed in the first three grades of primary school, such as colors, food, animals, school objects, etc. Each unit consists of a series of words and communicative structures and is divided into:

• a presentation of the theme through pictures and written and recorded words by way of an interactive “Picture Dictionary”.
• A course of activities of increasing complexity devoted to each one of the four skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking)

READING ACTIVITIES promote the capacity to recognize words, phrases and short sentences.

WRITING ACTIVITIES develop writing skills from words to short sentences.

LISTENING ACTIVITIES rehearse the capacity to understand simple sentences and exchanges.

SPEAKING ACTIVITIES encourage students to interact using the English language.

The software can be used as it is or can be personalized. The exercises can be modified adapting the materials and uploading new pictures and words.

THE BOOK

The book introduces the European Frame of Reference of Language Learning and talks about the potentialities of the Interactive Whiteboard in teaching English as a foreign language. It provides examples of lesson plans, with linguistic objectives, methodological approach, and classroom setting descriptions and suggestions on how to develop the four basic skills. The second part of the book contains photocopiable worksheets that can be used with the CD-ROM or directly in the classroom. The worksheets are designed so as involve the participation of all students, not only those writing on the Interactive Whiteboard.
