The games included refer to the three core principles for teaching mathematics, as specified in the National Indications: Numbers, Space and Shape and Data and Predictions.

These games can be offered to children and used for different purposes:
• to discover and experiment with new concepts and / or new skills;
• as consolidation and reinforcement of concepts already acquired;
• as a special moment to stimulate the cognitive and executive functions that are at the basis of problem-solving skills, in the use of creativity and divergent thinking;
• to interact with others by developing social skills, respecting given and shared rules;
• to involve and stimulate different learning paths (auditory, linguistic, logical-mathematical, visual-iconic, corporeal-manipulative, etc.) by activating the multiple intelligences of each;
• to transform learning (knowledge and skills) into skills;
• to positively manage more and more numerous and particularly heterogeneous classes in terms of learning and individual work;
• as an opportunity to engage free moments of the school day in a cognitively effective and productive way.
