Developing comprehension and narration skills

This book is a habilitative tool for children aged 5 years and over. Containing a variety of practical worksheets, parents, teachers and speech therapists can effectively cultivate the following skills:
• ignoring irrelevant information in a text;
• understanding, as well as textual information, inferences and integrating them with previous knowledge;
• recognising the structure of a story and recalling it in a satisfactory narrative structure.

Developing comprehension and narration skills contains different activities regarding:
• inferences: using short stories of different lengths and difficulties the children, like little investigators, will learn to carry out certain inferential processes;
• stories in picturesto complete with or without visual support;
• more complex stories for practicing, in addition to comprehension, the production of a text, both in oral and written forms. A checklist of the contents covered enables the user to identify weaknesses and prepare targeted interventions.
