First steps in reading and writing in primary school with the WRW – Writing and Reading Workshop

Based on the WRW – Writing and Reading Workshop, the volume provides indications and operational materials to promote the pleasure of reading and writing starting from the early years of primary school. Furthermore, it includes interesting ideas that every teacher can transform and adapt in their own classes based on the pupils’ interests.

The volume presents the reading workshop and the writing workshop together because, despite different phases, times and teaching methods, they are closely connected to each other.

Writing and Reading Workshop series
The Writing and Reading Workshop is a methodological approach that was developed in the United States in the 1970s based on solid foundations of experimentation and pedagogical research. Each volume in this series offers a writing workshop on a genre or text type according to the principles of the WRW, with mini-lessons and materials ready for the teacher as well as tools for planning other work programs based on the class level of competence.
