Stories to do and undo offers a remedial programme in text comprehension and production for children aged 7 to 10. It contains a series of illustrated cartoons, which are to be matched up in the right chronological order and are then told as a story, by developing each individual picture and the entire story, starting from any point. In this way the child is guided in using, appropriate linguistic structures in a defined context, according to different viewpoints (space, time, character) which allow the various events to be connected from a causal, spatial and temporal perspective.
Through these exercises, children will:
• learn how to build mental patterns;
• understand how different units are organised and reorganised at ever more complex and structured levels
• hone their linguistic tools in order to enable them to understand and express articulate, abstract concepts.
The book contains all the material needed for the project:
• illustrations, organised sequentially;
• cartoons which can be taken apart;
• descriptions for each individual cartoon;
• stories.
