Children observe the world with different eyes than those of an adult. For this reason even a simple leaf can appear to their gaze to be an element with a thousand facets. The goal of adults is to educate them on their ever-changing gaze, understanding that the leaf is a bit like a map that indicates different directions: scientific, historical, geographical, artistic, poetic.
With the scientific direction of Alessandra Falconi, the volume offers teachers, librarians, museum and cultural operators, 8 interdisciplinary programs that help adults and children to discover how the “drawing” of a leaf has intrinsic meanings that belong to us, in our body (veins, lungs, brain…), in the codes of communication, in the organization of thought, in the representations and in the shape we give to the world.

At the end of each chapter, a summary sheet is provided with a list of the Tools and Materials needed and also a Summary of the various steps of the workshop. The book is part of the Creative School Lab series, aimed at nursery and primary schools and designed as a collection of workbooks for teachers, workshop leaders, librarians, museum and cultural professionals.
It stems from the desire to expand on the experience of the first edition of the Erickson Creative School Conference, held in Italy in 2023.
