The Montessori’s educational albums, created under the scientific supervision of the Montessori Italy Foundation, provide teachers with a complete operational guide on how to use the Montessori method in the classroom. Third volume in the series, the Montessori’s educational album for teachers explains in detail what to do to accompany children aged 3 to 7 in learning to read and write – two skills to be experienced and learned at the same time – and proposes 22 activities divided into 3 sections:
1. Preparing the hand for writing tools – activities to exercise the hand for gripping and moving pens and pencils, represented by shape puzzles;
2. Preparing the hand to trace letter shapes – activities that teach the hand the movements for tracing letters, the representative sample of which is in the box of sandpaper letters;
3. Compose, write, read – activities that allow for composing words and then reading them (analysis of phonemic graphic links, composition of words, but always without having to use the hand), in which the use of the mobile alphabet is predominant.
