Children argue (not only them) and when they do, adults feel involved – and often annoyed. As educators, they are called to action. What do they have to say? How can they intervene?
A good tool is to use words, thanks to which the adult reasons with the child about the effects of the dispute: on what is produced inside and outside of him/her. In this sense, He Started It! becomes a useful and fun tool for learning how to reflect on arguing and to learn to argue well.
The protagonists of this play-book are Tito, Rocco and Maria, 3 siblings who… fight all the time! It will be up to the little readers to decide independently how to continue the story: What will Rocco do? How will Maria react?
This game-book series is an innovative and entertaining way to guide children through a journey of growth and play. These are called “stories at crossroads” because the reader will repeatedly find him or herself faced with a choice of multiple paths to follow, each one marked by a different colour, in order to choose the way the story will continue. Together with an adult, or on their own, children will have to decide what happens in the story, which path they should take, and how the narrative will unfold.
The two game-books in the series are dedicated to exploring different themes:
THE GAME-BOOK: A STORY AT CROSSROADS
The books are designed for children to play and have fun together with an adult. Through their dialogue, the child and the adult will be able to discuss the options available and share ideas, hypotheses and reasoning. The overall events of the story will depend on the choices made by the young reader, independently or together with the adult. However, it is always possible to go back, make different choices, and find out how situations would evolve differently if we acted differently.

What colour is happiness?
The school year has come to an end, and it is time to join grandma and start the holidays. But not everyone can handle the wait at their best... Grandma Ginetta will teach Bruno, Chiara, and their cheerful dog Blu, that it is easier to understand one's emotions if one associates them with colours.
Young readers will recognise that everyone feels different emotions, and it’s important to express them fearless to feel better. Children experience emotions more intensely than adults, and their sensitivity should be protected, educated and nurtured so that they became able to understand and manage their emotions.

He started it
On his way home from school, Tito finds his favourite toy broken. This triggers furious quarrels with his siblings Rocco and Maria. After a passage through “Bickering Land”, the three brothers learn that bickering is tiring and that it is better to help each other out.
Modern pedagogy teaches us that fighting is good. However, you need to know how to do it right! By following the adventures of the three kids and observing their emotional reactions during a conflict, young readers will reflect on quarrelling and develop strategies to be put into practice in real situations at home and at school.
