Luca is eight years old. He has a sister and two parents, like many other children in the world, and maybe even just like you. Maybe you don’t have brothers or sisters. Or maybe you have more siblings than Luca. Or maybe you live with just your mom or your dad. But believe me, you and Luca have a lot of things in common.
For example, Luca loves chocolate, strawberry ice cream and apple pie. He even likes some other foods like french fries, pepperoni pizza, chicken nuggets, and fish sticks.
What’s more...Luca loves playing ball, watching cartoons at night before bed, birthday parties, summer holidays, and Christmas Eve. Overall, there are lots of great things in Luca’s life.
Sometimes though, Luca feels sad. He has a peculiar feeling that he can’t explain very well with words. It’s as though his heart has become strawberry mush, melting drop by drop in the centre of his body. After a few drops, Luca manages to stop the painful feeling. But it is very difficult.
